Eight years ago I was a girl madly in love with a boyfriend who lived hours away. As I finished school and looked for a job near his town we both were depressed by the outlook that our passionate year long long distance love affair would remain until I could pry my rookie skills into the cramped public health workforce in his town. The day would come when I would get an opportunity to interview for a local position - this was the door opening to us FINALLY being together. I wanted to share this news in a very special way with him so I made him a crossword puzzle, revealing this news in one of the clues.This year for Valentine's I wanted to relive this memory of 'the crossword' that we sometimes talk about and smile at. So I made my husband this crossword for Valentines. Now, don't let me fool you - I just thought of the clues and answers and that put that into a free crossword generator and printed it out. (Just google free crossword generator). Then I got all crazy craft lady and added hearts with the lyrics to songs that have special meaning to us.
I used clues that touched on all the different phases and highlights of the past nine years. We made some nice coffee drinks (and KD for Mister Mans) and sat down while the kids were napping and as he filled it out we got a chance to relive some of those moments again.
I know it's a dork move (I won't tell you about the Dundie I gave him too then). Either way he loves dorky me and my dorky crossword.
