Once I started maternity leave I wound myself in a tizzy trying to organize, plan, make progress on SOMETHING. I was in a restless state of trying to keep 'working'. While let's say it - running a household IS a job!
The first few weeks on mat leave before Levi was born was spent on Pinterest and Netflix. While scouring mason jar crafts, unique recipes and unrealistic house plans I came across the brilliant FAMILY BINDER! I schooled myself in family binder 'guidelines', put one together and then asked myself "SELF! Why I didn't make sooner?!?"
Here's the d-low on my binder, and links to some free printables I've made for it (or they can all be found here)....
-->
Calendar
Calendars, to do lists,
paperwork that has to be dealt with ASAP, etc.
PRINTABLES
Money
Receipts for the month,
receipts for important items, budgets (yes we track our spending and compare it
to the ‘budget’ we’ve made ourselves).
PRINTABLES
- Although I made budget
printables I didn't add them here as budgets are pretty specific, let me know
if you want me to make a generic one.
Family Meals
Take out menus, lists of
meal ideas, meal calendars, recipe lists, kitchen tips, etc.
PRINTABLES
Baby Food
Recipe ideas, solid food
lists, recipes we’ve tried, etc.
PRINTABLES
Stuff to Remember
Contacts, business hours
for town services and businesses, medical info, account numbers, serial
numbers, passwords, etc.
PRINTABLES
Levi
Immunization records,
memory sheets, list of gifts he’s received, etc.
PRINTABLES
Home Stuff
Wiring diagrams, quick reference sheets
for house equipment and items, list of our reno ideas and plans, town flyers
(garbage and recycling info), etc.
Fun
Notes, letters, ticket
stubs, paper souvenirs, etc.
